It’s never a good thing if someone tells you that you’re full of yourself. Unless of course you’re Lithuanian photographer Natalie Shau. Shau takes vanity into the realm of beauty and art by using her own portrait to create series of stunning digital art pieces. All of her work was made with nothing more than an SLR camera (Not even a digital one), PhotoShop & a Wacom tablet.
What struck me with the portraits is the similarities between her work and the story ‘Alice in Wonderland’; some of her pieces invoking the Red Queen, and others of Alice herself.. Each of her portraits carries a different look and feel successfully telling a story with very little information. The level of detail in each composition is astounding; and the diligence behind her work shows in each of her final renders.
If you haven’t already looked her up, take a look at her awesome portfolio[http://natalieshau.carbonmade.com/], or head on over to like her Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/natalieshauofficial
She currently has an artbook out that would make a great addition to any art-forward thinking home or coffee shop.
