Industrial design is getting more crowded everyday with a flood of designers trying (hard) to constantly re-invent the wheel to set themselves apart from the rest. Peter Bristol doesn’t bother with that; his industrial design work manages to strip away all of the fluff and bring the wheel back to exactly what it was intended to be – a wheel. We found this Seattle based-product designer by catching a glimpse of one of his pieces: the Established & Sons Corner Light. There’s no shiny chrome trying to invoke modernism, no hemp cord attempting to bring ‘organic’ design into the mix. The lamp is simply a light covered by fabric hanging in the corner of a room. It is important to remember that simplicity is not the same as simplistic and Bristol manages to walk the tightrope between the two like a professional.

We definitely recommend taking a look at his portfolio if you’re looking for product design inspiration.
