Astro x Tattoo Temple: A Bluetooth Speaker for Artists by Artists

November brings us one step closer towards that time of year where we go rushing to find the perfect gifts for our perfect friends and loved ones. The team over here at CreativeFluff enjoys spending the days leading up to the holiday season by interacting with beautiful, well-crafted, and unique products that are hard to put down. We were recently lucky enough to get in touch with the team behind the portable speaker – Astro. Currently reaching the end of their likely-to-be-successful Kickstarter, Astro is a one of the most unique Bluetooth speakers I have ever encountered. When I first opened the box to reveal the speaker I was struck by the unique shape which features a loop for either carrying your music safely in your hand, or hanging it from a backpack or your wall. The build quality of the product was exceptional and while the item only weighs in at just over a pound, it feels sturdy and at no point do I feel like I will break it if it happens to slip out of my hand and onto the carpet (not that we intend to test this out).

What stands out about these speakers over any that I have encountered is that the artwork above was actually created by Tattoo Temple – you know, the tattoo shop where there is a three year wait just to get inked. Tattoo Temple has partnered up with Astro to create a stunning line of speakers for creatives, by creatives. Tattoo temple is known for only working with people and companies that share philosophy of “lifelong learning, continued development and pursuit of perfection.” Including the speaker that we had the opportunity to interact with above, the other products in this line have the work of a different artist on the front and back.

As you can see, the meticulous level of detail within the art is not diminished even when we zoom in on the speaker. This is expected when it comes to art from one of the top 3 tattoo studios globally. I can honestly say, at no point in my life did I ever expect to get the chance to interact with anything that Tattoo Temple had worked on – just watching their process the explanations by the artists themselves left me in awe of just how special the speaker is and why it belongs in my apartment as a practical showpiece. Here is what Tattoo Temple has to say about their studio and below is a video of the artists discussing the Astro collaboration.

“We see what we do as an art form that involves two souls. You are the rare material in the creation of Unique Living Art. One that deserves perfection throughout the whole process. We understand the importance of this process… Genuine art is timeless. We aim to bring tattooing to this level… We fight for our vision, for the body art you deserved.”

Some final words about the speaker for those interested in the art: the art on these speakers is crisp – there is no noticeable pixelation or bleeding of colors on the speaker. Moreover, the speaker looked great in a variety of different rooms as well as wall colors. These speakers are very easily blended into your current home decor’ and the artwork is accessible for everyone from the everyday business man to the avant-garde designer. While most bluetooth speakers are designed in a way that they become nothing more than invisible sound dispensers, Astro has decided to flip the script and create an beautiful way to fill a room with beautiful sounds. I will never forget that I have this speaker in my household and I can honestly say that I will be showing it off to any house-guests whenever the opportunity presents itself.

About Astro:
